Introduction
Developing oral skills in students is essential to enhance their ability to communicate effectively in various contexts. During the pedagogical practices, I observed that many students face challenges such as shyness, lack of vocabulary, and difficulty structuring ideas coherently. Therefore, I have designed a comprehensive proposal to address these difficulties through dynamic, collaborative, and contextualized activities.
Proposal Objectives
Strengthen confidence in public speaking.
Expand vocabulary and improve verbal fluency.
Promote the organization and clarity of ideas when speaking.
Encourage group interaction through communicative activities
Key Activities
1. Conversation Circles
Once a week, students will meet in small groups to discuss topics of interest. A moderator will be assigned to guide the dialogue and encourage everyone’s participation. These sessions will strengthen active listening and the expression of ideas.
2. Improvised Stories
Through improvisation games, students will practice narrating short stories based on random keywords or images. This will not only enhance their creativity but also their ability to think quickly and speak coherently.
3. Role-Playing
Students will act out everyday situations, such as asking for directions, conducting an interview, or explaining a procedure. This strategy prepares them for real-life contexts and fosters spontaneity.
Evaluation Strategies
Oral evaluation rubrics: Coherence, pronunciation, fluency, and creativity in interventions will be analyzed.
Direct observation: Progress in vocabulary usage and speaking confidence will be recorded.
Self-evaluation and peer evaluation: Students will reflect on their performance and provide feedback to their peers.
Necessary Resources
Audiovisual materials (recorders, cameras, projectors).
Suitable spaces for group work.
Thematic cards and visual resources for exercises.
Expected Outcomes
By implementing this proposal, I expect students to:
Feel more confident expressing themselves in various contexts.
Improve their ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
Develop active listening habits and respect for others' opinions.
